Even though the packaging was very well done and no evidence of damage was apparent, the right front lip had been bent in slightly. It is now barely noticeable after minor rework. Don't think that shipping end caps are necessary just yet. Every thing else about the Over Range Shelf was excellent. Quality, value, ordering, prompt shipping, etc.
